Charge Cars 2021: A Year in Review
2021 has been a challenging year for us all but that didn’t stop the Charge team from steadily moving towards our goals. Here is a round-up of our achievements during 2021.
Talent Snapshot:
The #ChargeCarsTeam is growing exponentially. During the past year we’ve doubled our workforce, adding more key industry experience to the team. We are continuing to progress at a fast pace and maintaining our agility as we head towards production this year.
Quality:
We have successfully implemented our Business Operating System (BOS). We’ve introduced Supplier Quality Processes ensuring our supplier relationships allow us to deliver an assured product to our specifications. We also established Plant Quality Process, confirming through inspection and control to deliver and exceed our customers expectations.
Design Team and Marketing:
Our first production intent vehicle is complete with full interior and composite exterior panels, ready for our official press release next month. We’ve fully developed our stunning UI/UX systems with our technology partner Arrival to deliver a fully connected driver experience. Furthermore, we had a sensational year, last year with our Social Media presence; achieving a high engagement rate and creating a dedicated following. Additionally we are in the process of building a brand-new website which will be launched in February of 2022.
Electrical Team:
The Electrical Team delivered numerous achievements last year, from successfully completing the XP03 (experimental prototype) and XP04 vehicles, to fully equipping our production intent car. Some of the more specific successes were completing front & rear exterior lighting systems with all legal certifications and also developing the Torque Vectoring programme using Arrival’s technology. Moreover, we co-developed and established our high-end audio solutions with a world-renowned supplier and also engineered our braking and ABS system and continued to tune our vehicle dynamics.
Mechanical Team:
In 2021, our Mechanical Team was extremely active delivering the complete chassis assembly, as well as the production intent thermal systems, suspension & steering assemblies, EV powertrain, vehicle brakes, a new engineered composite battery box solution, and all auxiliary systems.
Testing & Homologation:
At the beginning of last year the XP03 vehicle became fully operational. This milestone meant we were able to showcase our cars to our shareholders at Millbrook Proving Ground. We have largely increased the instrumentation capabilities which means we are now able to monitor more aspects of the car and retrieve more valuable data.
Purchasing Team:
Our purchasing team expanded last year, allowing us to maintain closer relationships with our suppliers. We now have over 300 suppliers working with us, delivering around 1,900 parts for our vehicles.
Production Team:
Another department that has been rapidly expanding; completing the interior customer buck, and successfully delivering our first production intent vehicle. The production line is now fully set-up to be able to commence delivery of the 499 Electric Mustangs.
We’ve assembled a great team at #ChargeCars and are now looking forward to the challenges this year as we head towards production. Get in touch at talent@charge.cars if you are interested in joining the #ChargeCarsFamily. Reserve your Electric Mustang at reserve@charge.cars
